The award winning Ape Theatre Company has performed to well over a million people. It was set up by Matt Allen in 1988 to produce an effective way of ensuring important messages are delivered in a way to capture the imagination, encourage thought and discussion, and to leave a memorable impression. Also to give young performers and directors a medium in which to produce their work. APE actors have in the past, and continue to feature in a number of high profile theatre, television and film productions.

APE offers a number of hard hitting documentary plays for performance worldwide with scripts based on actual events and words used - researched through interviews with those involved. Renowned for their ability to draw attention to current issues and relate to teenagers on their level APE has had thousands of plays booked repeatedly in schools worldwide.

Each play is followed by an interactive workshop to get the audience involved and promote further thought about the issues raised.
